Nurturing Romance: A Dialogue for Valentines Day

Romance is part of what makes love relationships satisfying.  It creates erotic energy, it releases hormones of contentment and connection in our blood, and brings color and joy to our lives.  And yet it is so easy to let that romantic energy get lost in the rest of our busy lives.  So it makes sense to pay attention to it.  From Coming Home:  Conversations that Take You Home to the Relationship You Always Knew Was Possible (working title) here is a dialogue for Valentines Day to help the two of you talk about what romance means to you.  Take turns sharing your answers to the sentence stems below.  The listener should mirror (repeat without commenting) each line, and then check that you have understood correctly what your partner is saying.

Nurturing Romance

What I remember feeling then was…

One way I would like to “up” the romance in our relationship is…

One thing I can do to make that happen is…

One future romantic fantasy I have is….(and I know I may not get it)

What I imagine I would feel like if we could try to do this is….

Thank you for listening.
